Removing Concrete Blocks in the Garden – Fast, Safe & Without an Excavator

Many garden owners know the problem: Old, concreted-in posts still protrude from the lawn – remnants of former play towers, swings, or fences. These concrete blocks are not only visually disruptive but also make garden maintenance or redesign difficult.

With our expansive demolition agent BETONAMIT®, these stubborn concrete foundations can be easily removed – no excavator, no noise, and no heavy equipment required. Just drill, mix, pour – and the concrete breaks on its own.

It's That Simple – A Real Garden Example

With BETONAMIT®, you don’t need heavy equipment or force. We’ll show you in a practical example how easily you can completely remove a concreted-in block and post without an excavator.

Removing swing foundation with BETONAMIT

Step 1: Expose the concrete and drill

Remove the soil around the concrete to the desired depth. For BETONAMIT® to work, a side clearance of approx. 5 cm is already sufficient.

Four boreholes with a diameter of 25 mm are enough. Drill about 90% deep, keeping a maximum distance of 25 cm between the holes.

Mixing BETONAMIT with a stirrer

Step 2: Mix BETONAMIT for 2–3 minutes

Mix BETONAMIT® with clean, cold water according to the instructions: 0.6 liters of water per 2.5 kg of BETONAMIT®. Be sure to follow the ratio exactly – both water and powder must be precisely measured. Use an electric mixer and stir thoroughly for at least 2 minutes.

Filling BETONAMIT into the boreholes

Step 3: Pour in the mixture quickly

Immediately after mixing, pour BETONAMIT® into the prepared boreholes. Important: If rain is expected, cover the holes with plastic sheeting while the material is still liquid and moist. Once cured, no covering is needed. Make sure to fill the boreholes completely so that the expansive force can fully develop.
