Our customer started by drilling the necessary holes into the massive concrete block. The concrete block was shaped like a bench, with a 30 cm high backrest and a 40 cm thick seat. Here's how he proceeded:
Marking the Holes: First, he marked the positions of the holes on the surface of the concrete block. He made sure to place the holes at even intervals to achieve a uniform splitting effect. The spacing between the holes was 30 cm from hole to hole. Adhering to the hole spacing is crucial to achieve the desired results.
Drilling the Holes: Using a hammer drill, he drilled the holes into the concrete. The holes in the seat area had a diameter of 32 mm. The hole depth was 36 cm.
After drilling the holes, the BETONAMIT mixture was prepared:
Read Instructions: Please read our instructions carefully before starting, which are included with every order in printed form. It is crucial to ensure that the mixture is prepared correctly. Add BETONAMIT to the mixing container and add the appropriate amount of cold water (max. 20°C). For 5 kg of BETONAMIT, add 1.2 liters of water. Please ensure that the quantities of BETONAMIT and water are precisely measured! Remember that the holes must be clean, dust-free, and dry before filling.
Mixing: Thoroughly mix BETONAMIT and water with an electric mixer for at least 2-3 minutes.
The final step was to fill the drilled holes with the prepared BETONAMIT mixture:
Filling the Holes: After mixing, immediately and carefully fill the prepared holes with BETONAMIT up to the edge. Use a funnel to avoid spillage. Any remaining mixture should be diluted with plenty of water and disposed of according to local regulations. On hot days, fill the holes early in the morning.
Wait for Effect: The effect of BETONAMIT was impressive: Within a few hours, the mixture began to work. The concrete started to crack and eventually broke apart completely, allowing the concrete block to be divided into manageable pieces and removed.

BETONAMIT® is a non-explosive expanding agent that applies pressure to concrete through a chemical reaction, causing it to break. It is filled into prepared drill holes, and after a few hours, the concrete begins to show initial cracks.
First, drill holes with a diameter of 30-40 mm and a depth of about 90% of the concrete thickness. The holes should be spaced evenly to achieve uniform results. The distance between the holes depends on the drill diameter and is usually 10 times the diameter of the drill bit.
Mix 5 kg of BETONAMIT® with 1.2 liters of cold water (max. 20°C). Use an electric mixer to achieve a consistent mixture. The drill holes must be clean and dry before the mixture is poured in.
Depending on the temperature and the hardness of the concrete, it can take between 2 and 72 hours for the concrete to show the first cracks and eventually break completely.
Yes, BETONAMIT® is safe to use as it does not cause explosive reactions. However, it is essential to adhere to the safety precautions and follow the user manual.
BETONAMIT® should be applied at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C. In very high temperatures, it's advisable to fill the boreholes early in the morning to ensure optimal results.
